In the summer, we offer additional tours (usually at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.) along with our regular tours at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., but all are only on weekdays.

This 72 acre site includes a replica of a Czech village, a wall depicting the names of the Czech settlers who helped to found the city, walking trails in English and Czech, a gift shop and library to trace Czech ancestry.
The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center Office and Gift Shop is now open Monday through Friday from 10:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon.
Railroad Historical Park and Museum - 102 West First St. - Smithville, Tx

McKinney Roughs is located on Hwy 71, 13.2 miles east of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The facility's entrance is 8.4 miles west of Bastrop. Hiking and rafting trips.
Activities include camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, and hiking. The park rents paddle boats, kayaks and canoes.

UPDATE ON STATUS AS OF 10/4- Got to Purtis Creek just fine. Have a really nice campsite. Weather is fabulous. Went to Canton on Thursday and Friday. Kay bought about 100 garden flags for the trailer (kidding)(at little), and I bought a cast iron dutch oven with a lid. Bought lots of other stuff, too. Canton really is something. Should be on everyone's bucket list.
Today, Saturday, we went to the Texas State Freshwater Fisheries Center. Nice little tour. Bought a few nice gifts at the gift shop. Watched a guy in a scuba suit get into a huge tank and feed the fish. There wew two 50 pound catfish in the tank.
Gonna try to get to the Husker game tonight at Gater's Sports Bar and Grille in Gun Barrel City. Wish us luck. Right now, I am running out of battery life on this computer, and need to post this. We will be checking in again in a few days when we find another hotspot.
